Pet sitting faqs

Are you insured and dbs checked?

Yes, I am fully insured with protectivity and dbs checked. You are welcome to view these at any time.

Do you just look after cats?

Not just cats! In the past I have cared for rats, rabbits, fish, reptiles and chickens, so they’ll be in safe hands! Please note that if you have cats and other animals who need care, the visit may take longer than 30 minutes so may incur extra charges. Please message me your requirements and what pets you have and I’ll be happy to provide you with a quote.

What time will your visits be?

Our pets love routine, so I aim to do morning visits between 6.30-8.30am and afternoon/evening visits between 5.30-7.30pm. This can vary slightly depending on other clients however I will always try to visit at the same time each day.

What areas do you cover?

Primarily Rainham, Gillingham, Hempstead, bredhurst and Newington, however I do cover all of Medway but there may be a surcharge for fuel if you live further afield. Please contact me with your location and I can confirm prices.

What if my pet needs medication administered?

That’s fine! I have experience in giving medication and also injecting insulin. During our meet and greet, we can go through medications. I have previously had a diabetic cat who required insulin twice a day, and another cat who required kidney and blood pressure tablets daily. I don’t charge extra to administer medication if the visit still takes 30 minutes.

My cat is a bit unpredictable. Is this a problem?

Not at all! I am used to cats who are a little bit spicy! If your cat needs a bit of space, I won’t pressure them and will try to earn their trust in time.

Do you charge for multiple cats?

No, as long as the visit still takes 30 minutes there is no extra charge for extra cats. The more the merrier!

I would like to book, what next?

That’s great! Pop me a message and if i am available on the dates you need care, I will arrange a free meet and greet session where I will come to your home, meet your pets and discuss their needs, personality, any medication etc.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Once dates have been agreed, I will ask for a 25% non refundable deposit, with the remaining 75% balance due 7 days before visits commence.

Dog walking faqs

Can we meet before you walk my dog?

Absolutely! I will always book a free meet and greet before walks commence, to discuss your dogs needs, personality, likes/dislikes etc.

What happens in the event of bad or hot weather?

We walk rain or shine! However, in the event of extreme weather or a heat warning we may cancel, reschedule to another day or walk earlier or later in the day. Your dog’s health, safety and happiness is important to me and i will assess on a day to day basis.

 Do you offer group walks?

I am currently taking bookings for group walks in the me8 area with prices starting at £11 per dog in parkwood and £13 per dog in rainham for a 60 minute walk with up to 4 dogs. Discounts given for same household dogs. Spaces and times are limited so please contact early to avoid disappointment.

Where will my dog be walked?

With knowledge of the local area, I know all the best parks and green spaces and I will use a different route each time to avoid boredom and provide variety.

Will my dog be walked on or off lead?

This is all dependent on what we agree at our meet and greet. If you are happy for your dog to go off lead and they have good recall, then where safe and appropriate, your dog will be let off lead. If not, they will be kept on lead at all times.

Do I need to be home when you collect my dog?

No, most people are happy for me to have a set of spare keys so i can collect your dog whilst you are out. Keys are kept in a safe when not in use and are not marked with any of your personal details, just your dogs name.

Do I have to book regular walks?

No, you can book ad hoc walks when required, even on weekends at no extra cost, send me a message and I will be happy to help!

Do I have to pay for sessions in advance?

Yes, i send invoices out at the beginning of the month for that month’s walks.

My dogs nails are getting quite long, can you help?

Yes! Although I’m not a dog groomer anymore, if your dog’s nails are getting long I can add this service to any walk, from £8. If you’re not sure, I can assess them and let you know if they require a clip.

I hope I’ve answered any questions you have, but If your question isn’t on the list, please do get in contact with me with any queries and I will be happy to help.
